Shining Silver

Inspired by the recent heavy snowfall in Washington DC......

Photos by Sujatha of Blogpourri
The kindergaarten
of the East
is awash with
kids
going beserk
doing art in silver streaks,
little pieces
tinkling
across the trees,
winking up at the
teacher,
Mrs Sun.

She appears
occasionally,
beaming
mildly,
at their work,
amazed herself
at the vastness
of the white.

But patience
is a virtue,
one must wait,
and so she smiles
indulgently
at the kids
and the trees
laden with silver....

She will come out
later,
gradually,
a bit more strict
and strong,
making the kindergaarten
green and red
and yellow,
and spring....
once again..

  2. Gorgeous, Suranga! I thought all of Sujatha's captures were fantastic and inspirational -- as long as you don't have to deal with it in person!! Beautiful words as always!

  3. Yes, the words and images often far more beautiful than being in it! Well said, Sylvia :) Lovely poem, Suranga, as always....

  4. Beautiful Words !

I must confess I am a tad ashamed as I should be. I live in the mid-west, not as hit as DC-Baltimore, and have been frustrated with the snow. So much so that I call it 'White S...'.

Maybe I should go out and wink back at that Mrs. Sun !

    Cheers..
